About TechBroKen

Middle-aged middle manager. Non-technical tech bro. Fingernail-flexing survivor of re-orgs, redundancies, and AI transformation decks. If this were a LinkedIn bio, I might say I am writing in a personal capacity from a unique intersection of cross-functional perspectives:

I love AI. Sincerely. Mostly because of how it makes me feel. The distance between imagining a thing and building a thing is collapsing, and it’s beautiful.

This technology has already changed everything, and it’s going to change everything again and again in ways that will make almost everyone trying to predict it look like an eejit. Yes, yes, I know it will cost jobs and make disgustingly rich people even richer, but it was ever thus.

Since the start of my career, my job has transformed beyond recognition, and certainly beyond my 2:1 English degree from the olden days. I work in “big tech” in a non-technical, increasingly expendable role. But I have at least had a front-row seat to the explosion of AI: new tools every day, AI tools to build other AI tools, agents standing on the shoulders of other agents.

Somewhere at this career crossroads, from the insecurity and apathy a new purpose emerged:

learn enough about AI to stay relevant;
help other people learn and stay relevant;
do less boring work;
build beautiful things;
gape in wide-eyed wonder at the sheer bedlam of it all.

I want to use AI to change the world in small ways for real people. That’s what this site is for. Join me.
